Doberman's Final Trip to the Dog Park After Terminal Diagnosis Is So Bittersweet

It's her favorite place.

It's impossible to say goodbye to your dog. It's even harder to figure out how to make your remaining time with them count. One woman knew that her Doberman doesn't have a lot of time left. And their final journey to the dog park is so heartbreaking.

Poor Sophie recently got an upsetting diagnosis, so her mama decided to give her one last go around at her favorite park.

As the woman explained in the video's text overlay, the Doberman was diagnosed with heart disease and terminal cancer. 

"We don't know how many days she has left...so we took her to her favorite place: the dog park," she explained in the onscreen caption. 

Poor Sophie has been having a hard time walking at home, but at the dog park "she got her energy back."

Sadly, there were no dogs at the park that day that wanted to pal around with Sophie. They went to a second park and again there were no dogs there who wanted to play with the dog either. But don't worry, they'll find her a friend. The dog mom even asked the internet to help her find her good girl one last playdate. 

"She still has so much more life left - this is so unfair," her mama wrote. 

People in the comments section felt for the dog mom. "That’s why we have to give them the best every day," one commenter wrote. "My heart hurts for you, I know the feeling. Hold her, love her and always cherish these moments. Love, light and prayers headed your way," another person chimed in. "Why do they have to leave us so fast? That hurts so much," a third commenter added. "Sending Sophie so much love. We are in Vancouver and Cowboy would love to play!" another person offered.

Sophie Has Since Passed

Sadly, Sophie's condition wasn't going to get better. In a follow-up video her owner shared that they made the difficult decision to put Sophie down.

In Sophie's final video, it shows her fur-siblings trying to get her to play. But the poor Dobie could only lay in her mama's lap. The pups ultimately stayed by their fur-sister's side and kept her company. Dogs — they're just so sweet. It was like they knew what was happening and wanted to spend as much time with Sophie as they could before the end. 

It seems like the whole family will miss poor Sophie-girl, especially her mama: "Rest in peace sweet girl," she wrote.
